CITY OF SAMMAMISH - Terms and Conditions
DISCLAIMER: The City of Sammamish offers this information regarding the Galaxy Digital volunteer management web site and software (“Galaxy Digital”) only as a service to the public. While the City believes that your organization may benefit from the use of Galaxy Digital, these Terms and Conditions do not constitute an endorsement with respect to the competence, suitability, or reliability of Galaxy Digital by the City of Sammamish. The City does not sponsor or endorse any third-party website. Organizations may have their own individual requirements for participation, so it is recommended that volunteers contact each organization directly.
Acceptance of Terms and Conditions of Use:
Your use indicates your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions listed in this document. From time to time, these Terms and Conditions may be revised by updating this document and posting it on the City of Sammamish website. If at any time you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you must cease your use of this Web Site.
Volunteers:
Please use this system only for its intended purpose, which is expressing interest in volunteering for a specific volunteer opportunity. Its use for any other purpose, including but not limited to sending unsolicited email messages about products or services, is expressly forbidden and will lead to the termination of user privileges.
Organizations:
1. You are solely responsible for registering your organizational profile and posting and updating your organizational listings. Your postings must be approved by a City of Sammamish administrator before they are available to the public, and the City reserves the right to edit or remove these postings for violation of these Terms and Conditions, or other law or policy. The City strives to provide approval or other comment within 48 hours but reserves the right to take additional time as needed.
2. Each organization which posts profiles and listings with the City of Sammamish warrants that it:
a. Has an organizational presence and utilizes volunteers within the Sammamish City limits
b. Meets one or more of the following criteria:
i. Is a legally incorporated nonprofit entity, or
ii. Is registered with the IRS as a tax-exempt entity, or
iii. Is a governmental entity, or
iv. Is a legally incorporated educational entity, or
v. Is a faith-based organization recruiting volunteers to engage in health and human service type activities, rather than proselytizing or otherwise overtly religious activities, or
vi. Is a neighborhood association recognized by the City of Sammamish, or
vii. Is a for-profit entity recruiting volunteers to engage in a subsidiary non-profit /humanitarian venture or in direct client contact, or
viii. Is an issue-oriented and/or advocacy organization which is either legally incorporated or registered with the IRS as a tax-exempt entity.
c. Will provide a safe environment in which to volunteer.
d. Will provide regular maintenance of their organizational profile and listings, updating at least every six (6) months and as needed is a best practice, or as otherwise requested by the City. The City reserves the right to deactivate any organization that does not keep their contacts and opportunities up to date.
3. The City of Sammamish reserves the right to refuse any organization which is engaged primarily in politically partisan or overtly religious efforts (e.g., endorsing a political candidate or a political party; proselytizing), or which otherwise violates any law or policy.
4. All active opportunities posted on the www.sammamish.galaxydigital.com website may be publicized through City of Sammamish media promotions.
