Who We Are
Imagine Housing’s mission is to develop affordable housing, build welcoming communities and foster vibrant futures. Imagine Housing was founded in 1987 by members of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue, who saw the growing need for shelter and housing in the community and identified developing permanent, affordable housing as a sustainable solution. We opened our first community, Andrew’s Arms, in 1992. Since then, we have grown from a small, all-volunteer organization to a professional 501(c)(3) organization with 24 staff, 20 highly experienced board members, and approximately 250 community volunteers per year. We are working toward a day when everyone has the opportunity to live near great schools, jobs, and community resources. Our residents include families, veterans, single parents, youth and adults who have been homeless, survivors of domestic violence, or are limited to a fixed income due to age, health, or disability.
What We Do
Our 15 apartment communities provide permanent homes for over 1,200 people. We believe everyone needs and deserves a home—and our programs help low-income residents overcome barriers to housing stability and provide the foundation that helps them thrive. We offer on-site supportive services and case management that help foster stability, dignity, and community. Imagine Housing’s Supportive Services Program ensures that residents of our affordable housing communities have the resources and support needed to remain stable, healthy and self-sufficient. On-site Resident Support Specialists provide individualized support in overcoming barriers to work and stability, accessing needed resources, and setting goals for their future. Our four primary Supportive Services Program areas include: basic needs, food assistance, housing stability and veterans transitional housing.
