Get Connected Icon Year-round, however, mostly in the fall. From September to November, volunteer tour shifts are usually weekdays at 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm and weekends from 10 am - 12 pm and 1 pm - 3 pm.

Description

Lead educational tours of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery to teach students and public groups about salmon conservation, hatchery fish operations, and watershed stewardship.

Commitment: 18+ hours

  • Complete volunteer registration (0.5 hours)
  • Attend volunteer orientation (1 hour)
  • Attend Hatchery Tour Guide Training (8 hours)
  • Lead Hatchery Tours (8+ hours)

Inclement Weather Plan: Tours are mostly outdoors and happen rain or shine. FISH has some umbrellas available; however, volunteers are expected to dress for the weather (sun protection, rain jacket, etc.) and wear comfortable walking shoes.
